Helpful information about itchy hands

If you can’t stop feeling like you need to scratch your hands, or you notice hives showing up on any part of your hand, you’re definitely experiencing itchy hands.

What causes it?

Food allergies, sensitivities to lotions or chemicals, changes in the season, and stress can all make your hands feel itchy. You might also just have dry skin, or you could be taking certain medications that cause itchiness.

Tips?

Moisturize your hands with unscented lotion, and in general, use unscented products on your hands to reduce the number of chemicals they might be coming in contact with. Review any foods or medications that you’ve started taking to see if these could be causing your itchy skin. Call your provider if the itchiness doesn’t go away after a week, or you start to notice bumps, cracking, or sores on your hands.
