A doula is professionally trained in providing physical and social support before, during, and after childbirth. Doulas may offer massages, encouragement, and information about what’s happening at different stages of the pregnancy. They also may help you understand medical procedures and advocate for your preferences during labor and delivery. Tufts Health Plan may cover doula benefits to help you have the personalized support you need on your pregnancy journey.
