Each year, at your annual health assessment, you may be screened for breast and cervical cancer. These are preventive care screenings, which are services that help keep disease or bad health from occurring. Your benefits make it easier for you to afford preventive care services.
Well-woman preventive visits

A routine well woman preventive exam is a medical exam given by a physician for a reason other than to diagnose or treat a suspected or identified illness or injury. Well-woman visits give you an opportunity to ask your healthcare provider any questions you may have, and let them evaluate your health.
Mammograms
A mammogram is a screening procedure that helps detect breast cancer. Mammograms are considered preventive care, and a routine procedure for women after they turn 35. Women who are 35 and older have coverage for one preventive mammogram each year.
Pap smears
A pap smear is a procedure that checks cervical cells for the presence of cellular changes, or dysplasia, that could be a precursor of cervical cancer. Pap smears are considered preventive medicine, and are a routine part of care for all women. Your insurer fully covers one preventive pap smear annually.
Your benefits
Through your Anthem PPO Diamond Value plan, as preventative care, screenings for breast cancer and cervical cancer are 100% covered for services from an in-network provider. Out-of-network provider costs will vary.
