Charges for delivery and newborn care in the U.S. can have a huge range depending on the hospital where you deliver, the amount of medical intervention that’s needed, and what’s covered by your insurance.
These charges may include charges for labor induction, anesthesia or pain-management, the charge for the hospital stay, treatment for any complications, and newborn nursery care.
Your benefits
Your Anthem PPO Diamond Value plan will help you pay the costs of labor and delivery. After meeting your deductible, you’ll pay 30% of all costs if you deliver in-network, with your insurer paying the rest. If you decide to give birth at an out-of-network facility, you’ll pay 50% of all costs after meeting your deductible.

You can also contact Wesley Adamson, your Anthem Concierge, by calling (720) 520-9781 or emailing wesley.adamson@anthem.com.
Additionally, as an Anthem plan member, you and your dependents also have a personal health champion called a family advocate. Your family advocate can help find in-network doctors and facilities, make appointments, manage chronic conditions, and find community and support resources.
