The Ovia Health solution was designed to fill gaps in care that arise on the path to parenthood, in part through virtual support and care coordination.
The pandemic has exacerbated existing gaps in care and women and families are feeling the acute effects. Against this backdrop — delayed fertility treatments, increased interest in home birth, plummeting vaccine rates — Ovia Health connects members to the care they need.
Clinical education is the foundation of our virtual support offering. Members are enrolled in appropriate clinical pathways and provided with educational articles and adherence tools. They also receive access to a team of health coaches: Registered Nurses, Certified Nurse Midwives, and lactation and baby sleep coaches.
When the Ovia Health solution detects a risk, or when a member requests an appointment, health coaches are available for private in-app messaging or telephonic coaching. These member touchpoints are essential to improve clinical outcomes; they also offer important opportunities for social support.
When a member would benefit from in-person care, they are directed to contact their provider and offered personalized care finding services for local fertility specialists, midwives, doulas, lactation coaches and mental health therapists.
Most recently, Ovia Health expanded care coordination through an integration with MinuteClinic, the retail medical clinic of CVS Health. The new offering will enable members to locate a nearby clinic, search through a wide range of women’s services, and book an appointment, all in the Ovia Health solution.¹ MinuteClinic has 1,100 locations across the country and is a convenient option, open 7 days a week, including nights and weekends.
