The reasons behind excessive sweating

Excessive sweating is any kind of sweating that isn’t related to exercise or warm temperatures.

What causes it?

Excessive sweating is most commonly caused by stress or anxiety. It can happen if you consume a lot of caffeinated products, like energy drinks or coffee. Certain medications, like some common antidepressants and hormonal drugs, might be the cause of excessive sweating. It can also happen as a result of health conditions like hyperthyroidism or menopause.

Tips?

If you’ve been under a lot of stress lately, try to take a breather now and then, and make sure you’re getting enough sleep and eating a balanced diet. Monitor your caffeine consumption and try to drink more water throughout the course of the day. If you find yourself regularly having periods of excessive sweating, contact your provider. They’ll be able to rule out any underlying health conditions, as well as reduce the amount that you sweat.
