You might think that getting to the hospital will be the most stressful ride you’ll take for a long time. We hate to break it to you, but getting home might be even more nerve-wracking. No need to fear though, we know how to set you up for success with the right clothes, route, and car seat.
Dress for success
Though you may be eager to slip back into your favorite pre-pregnancy clothes right after delivery, the ride home from the hospital probably isn’t the time. You’ll want to pack pants or shorts with a loose waistband (which is kind of a plus when you consider how infrequently you’re encouraged to wear sweatpants outside of your home) and a comfortable top.
For your baby, pack clothes that reflect what you would wear in this weather. If you would wear a t-shirt with a sweater, make sure that your baby has two light layers to wear too. If it’s snowing, pack a heavy jacket.

If your delivery center happens to be right around the corner from your home, skip this one. If your hospital or birthing center isn’t in an area you usually travel to, though, make sure you’ve mapped the route home.
