Maternity leave under approved FMLA typically includes up to 12 weeks of job-protected leave. Typically, this period includes a 6- or 8-week medical recovery leave depending on your type of delivery and then up to an additional 4 or 6 weeks of protected time off for care and bonding with your new baby.
Please note that time taken time off for pregnancy disability (6 or 8 weeks) will count towards your eligible 12 weeks of FMLA.
For employees going out on maternity leave and not FMLA eligible, the medical portion (6 or 8 weeks) will be covered under MLOA.
Paid Parental leave is a CCHMC benefit providing new parents up to 2 continuous weeks (based on FTE) of pay for baby bonding/care of infant time following the birth or adoption of a child. Paid Parental leave will run concurrent with other leaves.
