Stretch marks when pregnant

Stretch marks are visible lines on your skin in areas where the skin has expanded due to internal pressure. Many pregnant women will notice stretch marks, particularly around the abdomen as your baby keeps on growing.

What causes it?

Stretch marks are left as your skin expands along with your womb, and other parts of the body. Because pregnant moms have to put on so much weight, stretch marks are very likely to occur, as your skin is not used to bending as much as it does.

Tips?

Stretch marks are genetic, so you can blame your mom for there being no solid prevention. Although topical creams and cover-ups may be able to conceal the stretch marks, there is no great way to treat them once they arise. Mainly, you’ll have to wait until you start losing the baby weight. However, staying in good physical shape may help prevent the occurrence of stretch marks.
