Ovia Talks podcast re-launches with first episode about perimenopause and menopause

We’re excited to announce the revival of our podcast, Ovia Talks. Each episode will deliver candid, insightful conversations about women’s health — complementing Ovia’s digital tools, coaching, and clinical programs that support women at every stage of life.
Episode 1: Menopause Unfiltered
We kicked off the series with a topic that impacts nearly every woman: perimenopause, the transition leading up to menopause that can bring a wide range of physical and emotional changes.
Hosted by Sunny Bjerk, Episode 1 features Ovia health coaches Elaine Bishop, a certified menopause practitioner, and Lisa Richards, as they break down the hormonal shifts behind common perimenopause symptoms like irregular cycles, sleep changes, and mood swings.
The conversation explores what perimenopause and menopause really are — and what they aren’t — while dispelling common myths and sharing surprising truths. It also examines how these changes can affect daily life, work, and confidence, and shares practical strategies to help women feel more in control of their health.
The Ovia team emphasizes that early awareness and support can make a major difference, empowering women to seek care, understand treatment options, and advocate for their needs.

Why it matters for organizations
Untreated perimenopausal symptoms can have a significant economic impact: affected women experience up to 82% more outpatient visits, and U.S. employers face approximately $1.8 billion annually in lost work time.1
The Ovia Talks podcast is an extension of our work to provide accessible information to women, raise awareness, help women recognize symptoms early, and encourage proactive health management — in an effort to support better outcomes as well as organizational goals.
This is just the beginning
Future Ovia Talks episodes will cover topics that matter most to women’s health — from breast health and pelvic floor health to the chronic conditions that affect women differently than men.
Supported by members of the Ovia Care Team — a group of health coaches with backgrounds as midwives, doulas, lactation consultants, infant sleep coaches, fertility specialists, and more — the podcast aims to provide insights for individuals and organizations alike.
Women’s health is a conversation we all need to have. Ovia Talks is another way Ovia Health by Labcorp is meeting women where they are and discussing the most pressing topics across women’s health.
Episode 2 will continue the menopause discussion and premiere the week before Thanksgiving.
